Sakkara and Giza Pyramids Tour from Alexandria Port

Visit the Giza Pyramids with Sakkara and Giza Pyramids Day Tour from Alexandria Port, the magnificent pyramids of Giza includes three pyramids, known as Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus pyramids; those Pyramids are a defining symbol of Egypt and the last of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World.

The first Pyramid is known by the great pyramid or Cheops Pyramid, it is the largest Pyramid in the whole world as it is approximately 146.5 meters high, it was constructed by approximately two million blocks of slopes and limestone, its stone parts were made accurately to fit each other. There are many stories that tell about the construction of this great pyramid; Herodotus said that this pyramid was built by more than 100,000 workers and it took about thirty years to be finished, however the other story says that this pyramid was built by farmers who abandoned farming due to the Nile River flooding that helped in transporting the stones to build it.

Visit Chephren Pyramid with Giza Pyramids and Sakkara Excursion from Alexandria Port, it is the second pyramid in size, it was built for Khafre, the son of Cheops and the third pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty around 2540 BC. Khafre is also known by the Greek name Chephren. However the pyramid is smaller than Cheops Pyramid but it appears larger because of its smooth limestone cap. There is no evidence that anyone was ever buried in the main chamber. No inscriptions have been found in the pyramid; however there is a sarcophagus in the main chamber. There are two entrances that lead into the pyramid which are placed one directly above the other.

Menkaure’s pyramid is the smallest pyramid of the Giza Pyramids, as its height is approximately 66 meter, moreover it is not similar to the other pyramids in its decoration and designing, therefore it doesn’t have many drawings and details like them. Menkaure’s pyramid chambers are more complex than those of Khafre and include a chamber carved with decorative panels and another chamber with six large niches. The burial chamber is lined with massive granite blocks.

Move to visit Sphinx which is almost as famous as the pyramids themselves with Giza Pyramids and Sakkara Trip from Alexandria Port, Sphinx is a massive statue that has the shape of lion in its body and a head of a Pharaonic man, it was believed that the head is belonging to the king Chephren, its body and head were symbolizing the strength and wisdom, but it wasn’t certain for what purpose this statue was made for or who exactly it is belonging to, Sphinx is one of the fabulous Pharaonic wonders, it was constructed in Giza at the entrance of the temples to guard the pyramids of Giza and the mysterious monuments inside them, it also consists of about 2,000 limestone blocks.

Finally you will visit the Valley Temple which was very important as it was the main entrance of the complex of the Giza Pyramids and it was also used as a connection between the complex and the Nile River by a canal, as well as it was an important part of the funerary complex which includes a mortuary temple and a burial chamber. The Valley Temple was built by massive pink blocks of the granite mixed with beautiful forming piers that are surmounted by a huge architrave.
