This Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 and 57 BC, is one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt. The temple was dedicated to Horus the falcon headed god whose eyes were the sun and the moon. Sail to Kom Ombo which was built during the Greco Roman period, was constructed on the ruins of a much older temple which was called "Ber Sobek" or the house of the god Sobek. This older temple was erected during the reigns of King Tuthmosis III and then during the ruling period of Queen Hatshepsut. Then sail to Aswan on board Princess Donia Dahabiya where you will watch the beautiful surroundings and get to visit Philae Temple which built to honor the goddess Isis, this was the last temple built in the classical Egyptian style. Construction began around 690 BC, and it was one of the last outposts where the goddess was worshipped. The cult of Isis continued here until at least AD 550. This complex was actually one of the last remaining places where the ancient religion survived after the arrival of Christianity in Egypt. The Temple was relocated by a multinational UNESCO team from Philae Island, to its new location on Agilkia Island to protect it from the Nile Flooding. You will also visit the High Dam the great Egyptian project that was built to protect Egypt from the annual flooding of the Nile River.
