During the Mamluk era, the wekalet Sultan El Ghouri was one of several trade points, known at the time as ‘wekala’ a place where merchants gathered for trade, and also served as a residence for the merchants and their families. The Show performs every Saturday, Monday and Wednesday. The wekalet was built in the year 1505 A.D and turned to a theater to present Egyptian folklore arts, the Tanora show is played 3 days a week, Sat., Mon. and wednesday from 7.30pm, 1st to come 1st to set, they sell 200 tickets only so better to go early to get ticket and get front sets. Th Wekala lies in the area surrounded by Khan El Khalili Bazzar where you will immerse yourself in its colorful streets; it also is one of the most famous and the oldest bazaars in the Middle East as it dates back to 1382 A.D.
